Founded by Kari Gaffney in 1988, Kari-On Productions, LLC provides radio promotion, media relations, editorial, marketing and career consulting services for musicians, ensembles and record labels. Kari Gaffney, along with her partner Jeff Williams, offers a profound knowledge and dedication to the passion of music, along with outside-of-the-box promotions. We look at all avenues of promotion based on each client's project, analyzing the best methods of promotions to garner industry, fan-base and demographic for sales of your product via publicity and radio airplay. Additionally, we will target market you the artist and your product to the right demographic - not all charts, fit all styles of jazz - not all writers like all styles of jazz - don't waste product, time and money and risk a bad result. Kari-On Productions, LLC clients are primarily jazz and supporting genre sub-categories,
such as world and classical. So our focus is precise, targeted and specialized.
Prior to forming Kari-On Productions/Melodic Promotions, LLC, Gaffney, a native
Southern Californian, grew up surrounded by family and friends deeply involved
in all aspects of the entertainment industry; many are famous performers,
actors, songwriters, producers and sound engineers. All have enjoyed the many
facets of success in the entertainment industry, including the business, performance,
and the production of music. Some of the projects include such notable artists
and productions as; Bruce Springsteen, Extreme Games, CSI NY, Transformers
I and II, Radio Days, CBC Broadcasting, Children's Scrapbook, Flying for Freedom,
Soldier's Wife, Canada Marches On, L for Lanky, Canadian Cavalcade, Freddy
Fender, Doug Sahm, Chris Gaffney, Dave Alvin, Lucinda Williams, No Doubt,
Offspring, Stone Temple Pilots, Eddie Daniels, Chris Holiday, Llew Mathews,
Diane Schuur, Lou Rawls, Bon Jovi, James Brown and beyond. Gaffney herself
has 3 pop albums, 2 jazz albums and has recorded numerous singles for various
compilation CDs. Her jazz releases enjoyed national distribution through Borders,
Books and Music. In, addition Gaffney put together 5 US tours on her own to
promote Angel Eyes and Satin Doll, including over 300 in-store promotional
appearances.
Gaffney's experience as a published writer, touring musician, promoter, label
owner, distributor, publishing company and entertainment agency has given
her the hands on experience to understand and coordinate with many facets
of the entertainment industry and the knowledge to better serve her clients.
Additionally, Gaffney has enjoyed a long-time career handling PR for fortune
500 companies, artists, and actors. Her experience in marketing and music
go hand in hand, along with her extensive contacts built over a 24 year span.
Jeff Williams is a composer, 6, 7, 8 and 9-string guitarist, bassist (acoustic
and electric), published author, and educator. Williams holds a bachelor of
Music degree in Jazz Composition from Berklee College of Music. As a freelance
musician Williams performed throughout the United States. In addition, he
has studied with master educator and jazz guru, Charlie Banacos. Williams
also has compositions used by the US Government for their ensembles, he is
hired by numerous entities for transcriptions, orchestrations, arrangements
and is a published composer. His work has been featured on numerous soundtracks
for TV, Promos and Films.
With 24 years of experience in the many facets of the music industry including;
owning a label, touring nationally, production, booking, distribution, breaking
new artists and representing independent artists and labels as a radio promoter,
publicist and recording artist, Kari Gaffney and Jeff Williams have venerable
relationships with leading members of the print (multi-genre) and broadcast
(multi-genre) media outlets in the US, Canada, Asia and Europe. Gaffney and
Williams have obtained coverage in top print magazines, newspaper print and
industry publications along with valuable online print, blogs, podcasts, zines
and beyond. The internet is a valuable part of promotions, especially since
the evolution of the iPod, Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Linkedin and beyond.

working for you immediately. We create your launch presentation, which includes
a graphically designed "One Sheet" and a 3.0 CS6 digital press kit.
We will round out your biography and write a "latest release analysis"
about your current release. The reason we create the EPK is not to replace
your fan base building outlets but to aid us in getting the job done. From
countless hours of feedback from the industry and querying them, we have found
that navigating artists website and only getting a portion of the information
a writer or radio personality might be looking for only creates a desire to
move on. So we have taken this guesswork out of the equation, by creating
an EPK that utilizes an ease of use layout, but is still unique to each artists
artwork branding. This way; we get the information out in a conscience manner,
quickly efficiently and without any frustration to the industry person. We

qualities as a recording artist. A part of our strategy is to market to writers

Gaffney understands fully what it is like to coordinate with promotional entities
(publicist, record rep (sales) and/or radio promoter). As she has been on
both ends of the spectrum, previously contributing as a published writer for
the Herald Tribune in the San Gabriel Valley (CA) and the Hephzibah Banner
(GA) and writing reviews for labels and publicists, owning a label and distribution
company (hiring record reps) and hiring radio promoters for previous releases
(hers and her artists). Gaffney understands the value of focused promotions
versus lip service.
Through these combined experiences, Gaffney and Williams were able to clearly
see what additional campaign features were needed to improve the results and
